Welcome to my blog, Steve's Cafe. My plan is post thoughts and the like of my work as Dean of the School of Communication and the Arts at Marist College. I will also comment on one of my academic passions; the employment interview. Regarding the later, much has changed in the study and practice of employment interviewing since I first became interested in the subject some twenty years ago. The ways in which both applicants and employers gain access to information and use information have changed greatly. Yet, I can't help but to be struck by how little seems to have changed in the ways participants tend to process information and reach decisions. There seems to be many new paths of information access and discovery, but these paths tend to lead to the same destination.

- I am the Dean of the School of Communication and the Arts at Marist College. I completed my doctoral work at Indiana University, and have since worked at a number of academic institutions, including Creighton University, Iowa State University, East Tennessee State University, and Northern Illinois University. My academic interests include interviewing and media management.
